Speech Therapy Support

I am Lucy Stephens, a Speech and Language Therapy Practitioner with over 18 years experience in working with children. What gets me up in the morning is my passion for improving the outcomes of children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). There are few things more rewarding to me than those special moments where a child can make a speech sound for the first time, form a whole word, speak a sentence, be understood, when they can express their feelings, communicate their needs and understand how language works. 

My particular areas of interest are in speech sound development and language skills. I try to make my sessions fun, engaging and enjoyable, while learning at the same time.

I am not currently taking on any non verbal patients but I can direct you to other practitioners or therapists for this work if needed.  
 

At home

Individual face to face therapy sessions can be provided in the comfort and privacy of a child's home to help develop their speech, language and communication skills.  The sessions will involve parents and resources can also be provided.
 

In school

Individual face to face, or group therapy sessions can be provided in school.  Additionally I can carry out whole cohort screening assessments, provide advice and training for school staff and suggest or make appropriate resources for supporting children's speech and language development. 

Partnership working

I work in partnership with 'FindYourVoiceSLT.com which is run by a  registered Speech and Language Therapist. Between us we provide a unique and full therapy service from assessment and review, through to the development and delivery of therapy programmes, provision of group work, training and support planning.  We can be with you through the whole process.
